Seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Lawyer to join their legal team, our client offers a key role in providing legal advice and support to construction projects across various jurisdictions. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled legal professional to contribute to high-profile projects and work with a diverse and talented team.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing legal advice and support on construction contracts, including drafting, negotiation, and interpretation of contractual terms and conditions.
- Advising project teams on legal issues related to risk management.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and procurement teams, to ensure compliance with legal requirements and mitigate legal risks.
- Reviewing and assessing project documentation, including contracts, agreements, and specifications, to identify and address legal issues and potential risks.
- Developing and implementing risk management strategies to minimize exposure to legal and financial risks on construction projects.
- Conducting legal research and analysis on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards impacting construction projects.
- Assisting in the resolution of legal disputes and claims, including providing support in negotiations, mediations, and other dispute resolution processes and managing external counsel.
- Providing training and guidance to project teams on legal compliance, contract administration, and risk management best practices.
- Staying informed about developments in construction law and industry trends, and providing proactive advice to mitigate emerging risks and opportunities.
- Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in construction law, preferably with experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legislation, with demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating complex construction agreements.
- Experience advising on construction claims, disputes, and risk management strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Sound judgment and analytical skills, with the ability to identify legal issues and provide practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- A current practicing certificate.
