In September 2024, NRMA Parks and Resorts will open Turtle Sands, a new nature resort on the shores of the globally significant Mon Repos turtle nesting beach near Bundaberg, Queensland. The property will be the only place on Australia’s mainland where you can stay metres from one of nature’s most incredible experiences: turtles nesting and hatching. 

Job Description

Commencing in July/August, you will join us during the exiting pre-opening phase of the development and contribute to the recruitment process of building your new team!  

What you will do:

Our housekeeping team will ensure the highest possible standards in cleanliness and presentation of Turtle Sands’ variety of accommodation options - inside and out!  You will settle into our Head of Department management structure and assist in providing managerial oversight and daily coordination to housekeeping duties, task allocation and team rosters. You will ensure effective communication and liaison with other departmental leaders and resort management, to guarantee a smooth resort operation and product. 

You will find a sense of fulfilment in ensuring our guests enjoy the contemporary, creature comforts of home, whilst experiencing nature in an immersive setting.  You will ensure your team have direction daily and receive any training and development that may be required. 

Please note this is not a live onsite position and accommodation is not provided.  Ideally you are living in the region, or ready to relocate within the next 4 weeks. 

What you will bring:

  • Significant housekeeping experience and supervisory oversight to employees - resort or hotel exposure will be highly regarded
  • A willingness to ensure a positive guest experience with an expectation of high standards in your work, appearance and conduct
  • Outstanding guest service skills – you are welcoming and adaptable.  No challenge or request is too small
  • You wear your uniform with pride – you are happy to get your hands dirty to support you team and go the extra mile with a smile on your dial to assist our guests 
  • An understanding of rostering (systems) to meet operational need and departmental ownership
  • A suitable level of fitness with a flexible approach to workload
