Skills Required
  • Assist the Housekeeping team through the delivery of all hotel linen, chemicals, laundry, deliveries, and heavy/lifting work.
  • Ensure security of all keys and equipment during your shift.

Follow guest confidentiality guidelines.

  • Ensure high standards of property presentation, hygiene, and cleanliness.

Ensure economic use of chemicals and linen.

  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned correctly, that storerooms and trolleys are kept neat and in good working order.
  • Ensure all corridors are free of trays, linen trolleys, or cages.
  • Assist with the removal of rollaway beds and cots.
  • Attend to other duties as requested by Management and Supervisors.
  • Notify your manager of any reason you may not be capable of performing your tasks safely.
  • Participate and contribute to the risk assessment process when requested by your Supervisor/Manager.
  • Work cohesively in conjunction with the hotel’s rehabilitation program, as required.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining a culture that values effective and proactive WHS management.
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to maintaining a safe workplace at all times, including your own behaviours and practices.
  • Participate in consultation regarding matters pertaining to your health and safety and that of your colleagues.
  • Report any health or safety hazards or incidents, faults, repairs, cleaning needs and accidents to your manager and record on the appropriate form immediately following accident.

Participate in any required actions following the incident.

  • Participate in any training or education to assist you in performing your tasks safely, and always follow any reasonable instruction or procedure relating to health and safety.
  • Use safe manual handling techniques, practice safe work habits following with, safety and environment policies, wear protective clothing provided where necessary and take a consultative role in assisting and maintaining a clean, tidy work area and a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Ensure all equipment is kept in good working order and used only for the purpose for which it was intended.

Report all broken or damaged departmental equipment to your manager.

  • Ensure the correct storage of all materials and use of equipment per operating standards and manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Be fully conversant with departmental fire and evacuation procedures.
  • Maintain procedures to minimise our impact on the environment and prevent pollution.
  • Support commitment to "Planet 23” (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc.)
  • Take responsibility to ensure all required tasks are completed accurately and within given time frames.
  • Participate in scheduled training and development programs provided by hotel.
  • Create a culture of inclusion and diversity allowing all team members to Feel Welcome and Feel Valued
  • Attend and contribute to team and departmental meetings.
  • Ensure Hotel, Customer and Employee information or transactions are kept confidential during or after employment with the company.
  • Follow Company procedures with respect to grooming, performance and conduct standards, workplace health and safety, emergency procedures and all other property policies and procedures as detailed in the team member handbook, department procedure manuals and company policy manuals.
  • Assist in setup/clean-up of hotel public area.
  • Check with immediate supervisor regarding any area needing specific attention.
  • Proceed and check entire assigned area for any apparent problems that require immediate attention.
  • Check all supplies and linen in the HSK storerooms and replace as prescribed during shift.
  • Follow the task and instruction provided by Supervisor/ Guest Experience Executive and Executive Housekeeper.
  • Perform Special task and duties (Moving furniture’s, cleaning of stairs, washing and drying cleaning rags, cleaning and checking equipment used by Guest room attendant etc).

  • Guest room attendant supplies are to be inventoried and replaced as required during shift.
  • Picking up and delivering the guest laundry on timely manner and record them on the assigned book.
  • Lost property needs to handle and record as per the procedure.
  • Sweep and make clean and tidy all the HSK storerooms and linen chute.
  • Assist Guest room Attendants and Housekeeping Supervisors with replenishing supplies, removing soiled linen and trash.
  • Make a final inspection of entire area one hour prior to the end of shift to ensure all areas are up to the designated standards.
  • Any other reasonable tasks requested by your manager.
  • The physical aspects of the role which include but are not limited to; occasional lifting and carrying, kneeling, pushing, pulling, occasional ascending or descending stairs.
