Job description

This Federal Government Taskforce is leading work across Commonwealth Government agencies to simplify certain sector regulations, modernise outdated ICT systems, and strengthen Australia's economic resilience. As part of this work, this Taskforce is required to communicate these changes to a variety of audiences, such as the public, other government agencies and business stakeholders.

About the role

The Workforce Project Officer supports the Taskforce at various levels to deliver a range of workforce and HR activities. This role is responsible for providing sound HR advice, undertaking resource management activities, delivering HR projects, and building productive working relationships across the Taskforce.

The Workforce Project Officer will:

  • Lead the development of various workforce plans to support project implementation, staff development and staff transition.
  • Provide relevant and workforce and human resource subject matter advice, using contemporary tools and practise to support and deliver practical solutions and workforce initiatives that is compliant with legislation, regulations and business practices.
  • Draft interdepartmental Memorandum of Understanding to support hosting arrangements for the Taskforce.
  • Work collaboratively across the Taskforce and support strategic HR practices with border agencies, ensuring a coordinated approach to delivering Taskforce workforce outcomes.
  • Assist in the preparation of workforce and HR reporting, including budget input.
  • Contribute to HR analysis to support improved business outcomes and identify workforce risks and opportunities.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Well-developed experience and knowledge with all facets of resource planning activities and management practices, in particular workforce planning and strategies to successfully support project planning and transition planning activities.
  • Well-developed critical analysis skills and the ability to apply innovative thinking to business practices, looking for opportunities for continued improvement, efficiencies and streamlining.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management practices that support developing and implementing Workforce Projects within a fast-paced and high-profile environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to apply well developed analytical and problem-solving skills to achieve outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability undertake work with a moderate level of complexity and sensitivity under limited guidance, while communicating effectively with various stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Ability to apply sound judgement and perform, adjust and excel in a high-performing team and agile team.

To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen with an active Baseline Security Clearance.
