Role:HR Representative

Location: Brisbane QLD

Type of contract: Permanent 

Roster: Full Time

Job Description:

The HR Representative is responsible for supporting employees and managers on topics including hiring, relocation, benefits, career development, performance appraisals, compensation and promotions and employee separations.  The HR Representative is the first point of contact for management and employee queries, and assists the HR Business Partner in the design, development and implementation of various policies, programs and procedures, and administer these as directed.

This HR Representative also participates in SLB’s global HR training program, Keystone, which aims to foster high-quality training, stimulate multiskilling and promote our HR function's competency growth in order to address people's needs, company's challenges and become true business partners in a complex and changing environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Dedicate face time to support employees through interaction and feedback, and champion our Employee Engagement program through various engagement initiatives.
  • Conduct employee information meetings on employment policies, benefits and compensation.
  • Act as first point of contact for employees, supporting with queries related to the full employment life cycle.  
  • Regularly visit employees and line managers in locations outside of Brisbane, including operational bases and field locations across Australia. 
  • Assist business and line managers with interpreting and administering HR policies and programs.
  • Support line management on HR tools and processes, including performance appraisals, performance management, career planning and succession planning.
  • Assist in organizing internal teambuilding events and local community events.
  • Maintain a good grasp of HR and business issues and participate in initiatives aimed at continuously improving HR performance and employee motivation.
  • Support the workcover/worker’s compensation claim process.
  • Ensure compliance with the Data Privacy and Protection Guidelines and relevant legislation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Reside in Australia and have the full right to live and work in Australia.
  • Currently Brisbane based, or open to relocate there.
  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Two to three years of HR experience including working in an autonomous generalist HR role.
  • Proven experience in and knowledge of Industrial Relations.
  • A solid understanding of contemporary HR issues including Fair Work Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Highly competent computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office Suites, SAP and SuccessFactors.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, influencing and negotiation skill-sets.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • High integrity and strong work ethic.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Can work under high-pressure, learns quickly and adapts to new problems and situations.
  • Available to start as soon as possible.
