About the role:

As the HR Shared Services Superintendent, you will report to the GM-HR based in Perth. You will work closely with leaders and employees at all levels supporting the business, leadership groups and employees. You will be the “go to person” sole HR on-site for all human resources needs, ensuring that things are done in accordance with the organisation’s policies, procedures, processes and system expectations.  You will lead a small administration team and assist with various projects on site / off site pertaining to recruitment, camp, facilities and accommodation and community awareness and engagement. 

The role requires you to maintain regular reporting of the site HR function through reporting of INX, utilisation and implementation training of SAP whilst maintaining in depth monthly HR reporting metrics. You will foster a positive culture of teamwork working in close collaboration with Corporate, Site Leadership providing guidance in employee relations, HR system implementation (SAP/INX), performance management, employee engagement, retention, absenteeism, diversity and inclusion, organisational development and industrial relations. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a positive culture of prompt service, knowledge and professionalism.
  • Effectively manage your team and develop their capability to align directly to business needs.
  • Ensure management and adherence to HR related policies and procedures inclusive of relevant legislation.
  • Negate business risk by managing employee and industrial relations effectively & promptly.
  • Coach leadership on how to make sound decisions and effectively manage their teams.
  • Maintain integrity of HR information systems, so data and effective reporting can be used to drive operational decisions and enable leaders to drive performance.
  • Constantly seek to innovate, improve process, gain efficiencies, enhance service and advance the overall performance and effectiveness of the team.
  • Assisting the GM-HR in developing and implementing HR systems (INX/SAP) strategies and initiatives, including talent acquisition, retention, succession planning and leadership development.
  • Managing and resolving workplace and disciplinary issues by providing essential support.
  • Build strong relationships with the department leadership, being visible in the areas of responsibility, providing easy access for employees and leaders to access HR, attend relevant department meetings and regular attendance at safety deployments, ensuring visibility and support.

 

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or similar.
  • Extensive practical experience in a site-based HR generalist role covering IR, ER, workforce planning, performance management, recruitment and organisational development.
  • Able to work autonomously while building collaborative relationships and utilising influencing skills
  • Excellent customer service and support skills with an understanding of the delivery of timely and accurate advice.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time and plan work to meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse range of clients and respond positively when resolving issues.
  • Proven experience leading a team on Site and working with a remote support team.
  • A strong understanding and applied knowledge of human resources practices, preferably within the resources or a similar heavy industry sector.
  • The ability to hold and conduct difficult conversations, supporting and coaching line personnel.
