Due to exciting growth in Western Australia and ongoing projects, we are actively seeking an experienced and proactive HSE Advisor for a hands-on position with an immediate start to join our site-based team in the Pilbara.
This position will be full time role working FIFO from Perth on a 3:1 roster, consisting of Day Shifts only. The role will move back to a Perth Based role on the completion project.
The Role
This role requires the successful candidate to be responsible for duties as listed below but not limited to:
- Ensure that HSE systems, processes, tools and risk-based programs, are effectively implemented and maintained / compliance on site.
- Liaison with client representatives and external bodies, to ensure compliance with site safety requirements and standards.
- Provide safety leadership and mentoring to support safety behaviours.
- Conduct regular internal safety inspections and audits sites to identify non-compliance and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct incident investigations and provide recommendations for risk management.
- Investigate serious incidents and providing recommendations for management.
- Develop and present training, awareness and competency-based sessions, including the facilitation of the company’s induction program.
- Monitor compliance with the site Safety Management Plan and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain safety and environment records, registers and relevant regulatory licences.
- Assist with onsite injury management and return to work programs.
Requirements for the Role
We are seeking experienced candidates with the following skills, experience and qualities:
- 3+ years’ experience within Australian mining resources / construction industry in a similar role
- Minimum of a Certificate lV in Occupational, Health and Safety (or equivalent)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessing (highly desirable)
- Valid WA Drivers licence or equivalent - Min C class
- Strong understanding of applicable legislation including Mining Act, Workers’ Compensation & Injury Management Act, OSH Act 1984 (WA)
- Manage / lead incident investigation processes for the site (e.g., ICAM)
- Conduct audits, inspections and observations to demonstrate visible safety leadership and sound audit practice.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
- Confident use of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Demonstrated positive and flexible attitude with a willingness to take on a wide range of diverse tasks and adjust to competing priorities.
- A strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Ability to pass a fit for purpose pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.
