On behalf of Chevron, we are looking for a HSE Specialist - Environment to join their team in their Perth office. The successful candidate will provide a range of environmental management expertise and support for the Jansz-Io Compression (J-IC) project as it moves into the installation phase, while also supporting the development of future Major Capital Projects. This position will be a 14 month contract.
Additionally, the role’s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide Environmental Leadership & Support to the J-IC Project Offshore (including nearshore) Delivery teams and J-IC Offshore Execution Contractors.
- Lead HSE audits, inspections and field assurance verifications to ensure execution contractor compliance with HSE management systems, Environment Plan conditions and Chevron Environmental Management Systems.
- Undertake environmental risk assessments, ALARP assessments, Management of Change and collate data from Execution contactors to support regulatory reporting.
- Provide support with the development and application of offshore regulatory approvals, while also supporting the development of other Major Capital Project approvals.
- Support the wider Chevron Major Captial Project environment teams through collaboration and providing leave cover for MCP BWI field teams as required.
- Demonstrate a commitment to health, environment and safety and Chevron best practices.
- Degree qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or Environmental Engineering.
- 7+ years’ experience in a similar position.
- Broad environmental management experience, in particular for offshore scopes, that will support effective environmental management and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent knowledge of relevant Commonwealth and Western Australian HSE legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in developing and implementing environmental management systems and providing environmental management support to industrial sites/ activities.
- Strong organisational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing business priorities, and progress work scopes to agreed outcomes in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and build key relationships that contribute to high-class business results.
