Our Lady of Mercy College (OLMC), Parramatta is a leading Catholic independent school for girls established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1889. The College is located within a dynamic educational precinct in North Parramatta.
The College is seeking a full time, temporary (from 27 May 2024 to 11 April 2025) HSIE Teacher, specialising in Business Studies. The primary purpose of this role is to nurture the gifts and talents of each student ensuring that our Catholic practices and Mercy Values underpin all aspects of life in the school.
The successful applicant will have experience in teaching Business Studies, providing and developing coursework that meets the syllabus, preparing tasks that challenge our students to think deeply, and providing timely and constructive feedback that guides reflection and improvement.
Essential Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications to teach in NSW and a current WWCC
- Experience teaching Business Studies classes, Stage 6 experience preferred
- Capacity to critically reflect and adjust teaching practice to improve learning outcomes
- Capacity to establish a supportive environment conducive to effective student learning
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, administrative, organisational and collaborative working skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to the teaching requirements of the College
- Willingness to actively support and participate in the life of the College, and the Catholic mission and Mercy values of the College
- Willingness to participate in the co-curricular life of the College (noting that there are no weekend sporting commitments)
