We seek a versatile and multi-skilled Electrician HV with at least 3 years of experience in the electrical field including a minimum of 1 year working on processing plants. Working on an innovative project, the role is diverse with scope for fresh ideas. This position is offered on an 8/6 roster, FIFO from Perth or Karratha Residential BIBO.

The Role
The HV Electrician is responsible for the optimisation of the performance, availability, and safety of electrical fixed plant, by liaising with the Process Team, Maintenance Planners, Supervisors and Superintendents to prioritise electrical maintenance activities including high voltage and instrumentation to achieve maintenance targets and ensure statutory compliance and production continuity.
About You
Qualifications & Experience:
- Electrical Trade Certificate & Current Electrical Licence.
- High Voltage Switching Qualification.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawing and fault-finding control circuits.
- 3 years of experience in the electrical field including a minimum of 1 year working on processing plants
- Experience working in accordance with AS3007 and AS3000 electrical wiring rules.
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office and competent with maintenance planning and work orders utilising software such as Pronto.
- Self-motivated, well organised, and able to manage own work to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative and provide guidance to the team in reaching appropriate solutions.
- Well-developed negotiation skills.
- High levels of attention of detail.
- Ability to work in a complex team environment.
- Knowledge of safety and environment management system.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate appropriate behaviours in line with BCI Minerals values.
- Accept statutory appointment as a HV Electrician and ensure compliance with associated statutory responsibilities.
- Liaise closely with the Superintendent Operations, and process team to prioritise electrical maintenance activities to reduce impact on production.
- Assist in work planning, scheduling and resource allocation with a focus on the weekly electrical maintenance plan.
- Practice effective cost management and identify cost minimisation strategies.
- Actively seek to identify areas for continuous improvement initiatives that could have cost and/or production benefits.
- Ensure accurate input of daily maintenance statistics into the process plant reporting system to track downtime and safety.
- Ensure all work carried out has been recorded in the mines book.
- Compliance with WA Mines Safety and Inspections Act and Regulations and Duty of Care.
- Manage contractors on a short & long-term basis.
- Any other tasks as directed by the Superintendent Operations.

- The HV Electrician has a direct impact on the business through their responsibility for the quality of the tasks performed or services provided. Impacts on work and performance of their internal customers (Production) and overall effectiveness of the function.
- Has an indirect financial impact on the business as the Maintenance team's efficiency affects Production.
- Has an immediate impact on the environment with regards to proper disposal of waste.
- The role has an important financial impact on the BCI Minerals cost.
- To achieve the objectives of this role advanced knowledge of best practices for maintenance and equipment applications is required.
- The position is impacted by group safety policy, market needs, operation's needs, and decisions taken by Management.
