Brunel has an exciting opportunity for a Hydro Field Technician to join the team at one of the leading Iron Ore producers in Australia.
Key accountabilities for the field tech role are:
- Daily planning of earthworks operations required for upcoming scopes, including ground-truthing of proposed locations.
- Daily pegging of future borehole locations and tracks (if required)
- Daily data entry of all earthworks progress, drill pad signoffs and pegged drill holes.
- Identification and rectification of hazards in the workplace
- To provide all necessary information both digital and physical to the Earthworks Crew to ensure accurate and efficient clearing of planned drill sites within LUC conditions.
- To provide all necessary support to Field Hydrogeologists if required
- Assist as required in the event of an emergency including, fires and weather events.
- Provide support to Earthworks Operators and to conduct daily pad checks and pad signoffs.
- Assisting Hydro contractors however required to enable efficient execution of water well drilling and test pumping scopes.
- Liaising with contracting staff and providing assistance escorting of vehicles if required
- Regular review of field SWIs and procedures
- Regular stocktake of department consumables.
- Conduct field interactions to maintain a safe work environment and broaden knowledge.
- Load/unload stores as required.
Skills:
- Minimum Class C manual WA driver’s license
- General computer skills (highly desirable)
- Willingness and ability to learn new computer software.
- Current first aid certificate
- 4WD certificate
- Moderate to a high level of physical fitness (preferred)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Forklift Ticket (desired)
- MR or HR License (preferred).
Knowledge/Experience:
- Working with drill rigs and earthwork equipment (preferred).
- Previous experience on a mine site (preferred).
- Some GIS experience preferred (experience using of ArcMap program etc.)
