Saprolite Environmental is a specialist environmental consulting firm servicing the mining/resources industry. We have a small office that is based in the northern suburbs of Perth WA, in Ellenbrook. As a private company we offer a flexible working environment, within a small group of professionals.
A full-time permanent position has become available for candidates interested in pursuing a career in the mining services industry. Saprolite Environmental (Saprolite) is a growing and dynamic environmental and water resource consultancy with a varied and interesting range of projects.
Working with a small group you will have the opportunity to participate at various points within projects, and gain exposure to and experience in field programs when they arise from time to time. - Undertake hydrogeological assessments and desk-top studies, and prepare quality factual reports
- Prepare regulatory compliance reports on behalf of, and based on data provided by clients
- Data management and analyses of groundwater monitoring data for inclusion into compliance reports
- Construction and preparation of plans/figures utilizing GIS and commercial software
- Undertake groundwater exploration, drilling and bore construction programs, inclusive of drilling contractor supervision
- Undertake baseline sampling, including water levels, EC profiling, slug-testing, water sampling following industry best practice
- Accurate recording of all field information and data
- On-the-job training provided as required
- Bachelor of Science (or equivalent)
- ‘C’ Class (manual) Australian driver’s license, and have own reliable transport
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
The following will be seen as highly favorable:
- 1 to 3 years industry experience in hydrogeological, geological, or environmental science fields.
- Demonstrated sound technical report writing skills and abilities.
- Experience in (or exposure to) project management activities
- Experience in (or exposure to) groundwater monitoring activities
- Experience in the following software: MS Excel (Intermediate to Advanced), MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Visio, QGIS/ArcGIS, Surfer, Logplot, Inkscape
- Experience in (or exposure to) the collection, interpretation and presentation of groundwater monitoring data, and hydrogeological field data
- Experience in (or exposure to) groundwater exploration, and drilling and bore construction programs, including drilling/wellsite supervision
- Eager to learn and gain experience with an excellent work ethic.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, with effective written/oral communication skills, have a professional attitude, honest, with excellent personal & time management skills.
