DutiesProvide high level stakeholder engagement, system administration, expert technical design, implementation, and support of the Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management’s (DPFEM) Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure to support business and critical emergency systems, and in accordance with current cybersecurity best practice.
Essential RequirementsPre-Employment Checks
The Head of the State Service has determined that a person nominated for appointment to this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. Any relevant serious criminal offence or repeated serious offences over any period, which are not mitigated by additional information, may provide grounds for declining an application for appointment. Such offences would include, but are not limited to:
- Arson and fire setting;
- Sexual offences;
- Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary, breaking and entering, fraud);
- Deception (e.g. obtaining an advantage by deception);
- Making false declarations;
- Violent crimes and crimes against the person;
- Malicious damage and destruction to property
- Trafficking of narcotic substance;
- False alarm raising.
- 3 or more years of industry experience and relevant qualifications.
- Experience maintaining Solaris 10/11 on Sparc based systems
- Experience with F5 load balancers, proxy servers, SSL Certificate Authorities, and Active Directory (LDAP)
- Experience with RedHat Satellite or similar centralised management/automation tools such as Foreman/Katello.
- Experience with Linux based Database Management Systems
- Experience with virtualisation (on premise VMware and/or Microsoft Azure).
- Qualifications in ITIL methodology and/or project management qualifications and experience.
- Current driver’s licence.
