Your Role
Are you looking for a unique opportunity to support the rollout of a whole of Defence ICT strategy?

If so, this is the job for you.

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join the newly formed ICT Strategy Implementation Office (ICTSIO) as the Communications Specialist.

You will support the Change Management and Communications Lead and will be responsible for the development of communications artefacts for the ICT Strategy Implementation Office.

This may include stand-alone strategy events, on-going implementation roadshows, or support to externally-organised events such as the annual Military Communications and Information Systems Conference.

In this role you will also oversee ongoing strategy communications both internally within Defence and externally.

About Our Team
The ICT SIO is a newly formed function within ICT Strategy Realisation Branch and Chief Technology Officer Division that provides guidance and oversight of the Defence ICT Strategy.

This office is responsible for ICT strategy implementation management, performance reporting and ensuring that ICT initiatives within Chief Information Officer Group are executed and implemented in alignment with the ICT Strategy.

The team has a direct relationship with the whole of Defence including wider Chief Information Officer Group, other Defence Groups and Services and Defence Industry Partners to adopt a One Defence approach to achieving the goals of the ICT Strategy.

  • Be highly organised, independent and capable of managing competing priorities to ensure effective communications
  • Have exceptional communication skills (written and oral) that allow engagement with a range of military, APS and external stakeholders
  • Have significant stakeholder management experience
  • Display dynamic and conceptual thinking
  • Have high level problem solving skills
  • Be experienced in producing high-level, effective strategic communication, event management, and stakeholder engagement support.
