Join a team that exists to fearlessly get ahead of the world’s problems with people who care.

Careerlink People Solutions have partnered with 11point2, an energetic and elite idea validation company, to find an Idea Validator with a design thinking focus who will play an integral role in the process of validating ideas.

11point2 is a pioneer in applying the entrepreneurial-founder mindset to challenges faced by large organisations. They uncover and validate worthwhile tech ideas that would otherwise have never been found across complex problem spaces.

Located in Adelaide’s Lot Fourteen precinct, they are committed to leaving no stone unturned as they strive to ignite the world’s innovation potential for the greater good. We are looking for like-minded, high performing individuals, who are relentless in their curiosity and brave in their ambition to find, test & validate worthwhile ideas that have a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

You will operate like a co-founder in a technology focused start-up.  Your remit will be everything that has to be thought through and done in the earliest stage of a start-up, other than building the product and technology required to make it work.

  • Work with clients to uncover and validate entrepreneurial ideas
  • Own the Stakeholder Validation process, activities and content, including identifying the right validation stakeholders and engaging them appropriately throughout the Idea Validation Lifecycle
  • Determine market opportunity, competitive landscape and the pathway to executing on the ideas
  • Find and reach out to industry experts and synthesise their input
  • Critically think through Validation learnings and provide continuous feedback to the other members of the Idea Validation Squad
  • Establish productive (co-founder like) working relationships with other members of the Idea Validation Squad.
  • Prepare accurate, well-developed slides and charts, and deliver original analyses and insight to the team
  • Participating in and occasionally facilitating ideation workshops
Skills and Experience
  • Experience with various innovation frameworks and ideation methodologies including design thinking, customer journeys, jobs to be done, business model canvas, and design sprints
  • Strong analytical skills to synthesise, analyse and deliver data and insights toward specific themes
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and a strong desire to ensure that all interactions with internal and external stakeholders are effective and enjoyable
  • Must have an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong sense of value
  • Must be biased to action, resilient, and passionate about innovation and technology
  • Must be curious, think laterally, and develop solutions to commercial problems
  • Start-up knowledge, community impact, and global experiences are highly regarded, but not required
  • Experience in mining, gas, oil and/or energy is highly regarded
Desirable
  • Related innovation consulting work experience (top-tier management consulting or technology consulting firms) or the equivalent experience spent finding or validating business ideas
  • Experience using human centred design (design research / design thinking) research methodologies
  • Experience in product management, program management, business operations or strategic planning
  • Dual or second degrees in Engineering or Business
  • Workshop facilitation experience
Culture

Comprised of a diverse group of unconstrained thinkers, entrepreneurs, pioneers and builders, this is a truly unique opportunity to align yourself with a team of purposeful individuals who challenge each other to be the best version of themselves. Think of your team as the elite Navy SEALS of technological innovation and entrepreneurship!

This is an incredibly supportive group who all treat each other like co-founders and equals, who take full ownership and responsibility. They are a creative, playful, and fun team who don’t micromanage your time. The focus is on the outcomes and supporting each other along the way.

Benefits
  • Flexible working hours and location – you are in control of your time and work
  • Full support and investment in your ongoing professional development, including internal and external mentorship
  • Equity – option to participate in employee share plan
