The Role:
Join our team as an Electrical/Instrument Technician, providing technical expertise during the commissioning and maintenance of new and existing electrical and instrumentation equipment. Your role will involve planning tasks, developing equipment Bill of Materials (BOMs), executing preventative and corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting site equipment.
In this residential role, you will live permanently in Roma (or surrounding towns), though, whilst on shift, you may choose to be based in camp at the Reedy Creek Asset (approx. 99km from Roma).
More about the role:
- Provide technical support during commissioning and ongoing maintenance of electrical/instrument equipment.
- Compile JSAs and plan daily tasks with leads and technical teams.
- Assist in the development of equipment BOMs and SOPs.
- Execute preventative and corrective maintenance activities as per site schedules.
- Perform fault finding and troubleshooting for site equipment.
- Offer technical input to Supervisors and field teams on multiple work fronts.
- Ensure activities meet quality standards.
About you:
You are self-motivated with a positive attitude. You are happy contributing to a team and working collaboratively across an organisation to get results. You have a continuous improvement mindset and are committed to a culture of safety.
More about you:
- QLD Electrical Trade Licence
- Experience in testing, commissioning, and maintaining electrical/instrument equipment in hazardous areas
- Proficient in working within a Permit to Work System
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and P&IDs
Desirable:
- Experience in testing and commissioning LV Electrical systems
- EEHA qualification and experience
- Formal qualification in Instrumentation
- Familiarity with Hart instrumentation protocol
- Experience with Yokogawa PLC & DCS
- Formal High Voltage Qualification
