Skills and experience required

· Must have 3-year experience working as Chef in both Curry and Tandoori sections in an Indian kitchen.

· Certificate III or IV in commercial cooking is required.

· Positive Skill Assessment as Chef

Responsibilities

As an Indian Cuisine Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation of Indian dishes. Your role involves managing the kitchen team, developing menus, sourcing ingredients, and ensuring high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. You'll be expected to bring creativity and innovation to traditional Indian recipes while respecting their cultural authenticity. Your passion for Indian cuisine and your ability to train and inspire kitchen staff will be crucial in maintaining a positive and productive culinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Create diverse and authentic Indian menus that appeal to a wide range of tastes, incorporating traditional recipes with modern twists.

Oversee the preparation of ingredients and ensure that cooking methods adhere to traditional Indian techniques while meeting food safety standards.

Execute cooking techniques for various Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori, biryanis, and bread such as naan and roti, ensuring consistency and quality.

Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation by conducting regular tastings and inspections of dishes before service.

Manage kitchen operations, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, and adherence to sanitation and safety regulations.

Train and mentor kitchen staff in Indian cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and cultural significance of dishes.

Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the procurement of fresh and high-quality ingredients.
