Position OverviewThe Australian Dictionary of Biography (ADB), National Centre of Biography (NCB) in the School of History, Research School of Social Science (RSSS) College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is seeking to appoint a highly qualified individual for the continuing position of Research Officer for its Indigenous biographies. The ADB has an Indigenous Australian Dictionary of Biography (IADB) project, which is partly funded by the ARC, and the Editorial Board had made the decision to revise the dictionary in the period before 1850, which will involve the inclusion of many more indigenous biographies. This expansion of indigenous articles has the support of the ADB Indigenous Working Party, which is led by and comprises of Indigenous Scholars who represent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities around the country. The successful applicant will have professional and technical skills and experience in research and editing biography, together with a research track in historical writing and an independent research agenda.
