We are looking for a highly-motivated and engaging Indigenous Employment Officer to join the team. You will be working in the Workforce Australia Services program, which provides support and coaching to help people obtain sustainable employment. This position is preferably based in Ipswich. Regular travel across the region will be required .
This is a full-time position with the added benefit of a monthly accrued day off.
What will you be doing?
The focus of this role is to work closely with internal staff and external stakeholders to increase the participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the labour market. You will be a mentor for Indigenous customers, coaching them to develop skills to move towards sustainable employment and advocating for them with employers to identify suitable training and employment opportunities.

Essential experience, qualifications and skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills and a high level of computer literacy
  • A recent clear National Police Check
  • A current QLD Working With Children Check / QLD Blue Card
  • Current Driver’s Licence and the ability to travel between different ETC sites
