The position:
We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and dependable Carpenter or Plumber to take on the vital role of training and mentoring our Indigenous Housing Maintenance Officers in the Milingimbi & Gapuwiyak Communities. This position is tailored for an individual who is enthusiastic about joining our maintenance team, dedicated to hard work, and finds fulfillment in imparting their expertise to empower our Indigenous Housing Maintenance Officers residing in remote communities.
The role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager your role will include:
- Remote travel and training our Yolngu men in basic non trade carpentry and plumbing tasks
- Mentoring and motivating men in their employment journey to service their community in maintenance

- $40.00 - $50.00 per hour (depending on skills & experience)

Experience Required:
- Carpentry or plumbing trade certificate
- Broad maintenance skillset
- Construction Induction White Card
- Current Drivers License
- NT Working with Children’s Card
- Working at Heights
- Positive attitude towards safety
- Experience in remote Aboriginal community works will be an advantage
- Experience in working alongside Indigenous men providing positive mentoring and upskilling will be an advantage
