About the Opportunity

Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, The Industrial Relations (IR) Specialist is responsible for the provision of high level IR advice and services to the business, and the development of strategies and frameworks to support the effective management of IR matters across the business and multiple portfolios. The successful candidate will have proven experience in developing and maintaining effective relationships with union organisations, development and implementation of enterprise agreement bargaining strategy, and management of dispute and disciplinary matters. The ability to build and foster relationships with multiple stakeholders, together with your commercial acumen is critical for success in the role.

This position is full-time Permanent, based in Osborne SA or Henderson, WA. Intermittent travel may be required between South Australia or Western Australia. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an overarching enterprise agreement strategy which is aligned to the businesses strategic objectives;
  • Establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across the business, and with external union organisations;
  • Proactively resolve IR matters and disputes to achieve best for business outcomes, with consideration to its people objectives and compliance requirements;
  • Develop effective frameworks to appropriately manage employee investigations, disciplinary action, and workplace disputes; and
  • Provide expert coaching, advice and training to stakeholders across the business.

About you 

  • High level knowledge of relevant Industrial Relations and employment law;
  • Sound knowledge of industrial instruments (i.e. National Employment Standards, Fair Work Act, Enterprise Agreements, etc.);
  • Previous proven experience in negotiation of enterprise agreements;
  • The ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, particularly with union organisations;
  • Experience managing IR disputes, investigations and disciplinary outcomes;
  • Ability to manage employee performance management matters, grievances and coach leaders through resolutions; and
  • Ability to influence applicable internal and external stakeholders.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
