This role is responsible for the delivery of an industry-focussed injury and claims management service for workers and employers. The Industry Return to Work (RTW) specialist will deliver high quality engagement to all stakeholders involved in the return-to-work process and will proactively lead the recovery and return to work.

You will support workers and employers to achieve timely and optimal recovery and return to work outcomes. A key part of the role will be to develop the knowledge base of particular industries which will be leveraged to support early intervention and claims management practices.

This will be a permanent, full time position based in the Adelaide office, with flexibility to work from home.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver injury management, return to work and claims management services that drives early and safe return to work
  • Conduct a holistic and thorough assessment of the worker and employer's situation to identify and proactively drive the resolution of biopsychosocial barriers with the treating team
  • Educate and inform stakeholders on the return to work process, legislative requirements, premium impact, initial claims decisions while promoting the health benefits of safe work
  • Coordinate and lead worksite meetings with workers and employers
  • Where worksite barriers are identified, provide on-the-spot advice, approval and education to resolve or procure tailored services that resolve these
  • Proactively engage and partner with the treating team to drive the worker's capacity for work in line with the worker's progress, recovery timeframes and suitable duties
  • Deliver timely decisions and approvals that are within the legislative requirements and delegations, and proactively monitor and manage overall claims costs to ensure cost effectiveness for the purpose of durability of the scheme.
  • Liaise with the Regulator Return to Work SA to provide initiatives that support return to work
  • Educate staff on Return to Work outcomes through education

ABOUT YOU
  • Registered with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Occupational Health Nurse, and ensuring this registration is maintained and current.
  • Prior experience within a clinical role, or within an injury management field, educating workers and employers in the health benefits of safe work and activity
  • Sound working knowledge and understanding of the work injury insurance Scheme in South Australia.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to build trust, engage, influence and negotiate with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to make decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and contribute to an evolving program of work
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Current driver's licence
