  • Salary HEW 7 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements 

  • Based at the ​Melbourne CBD​ campus, ​but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University​ 

About The Position 

 
The Industry Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in nurturing partnerships with key industry stakeholders of RMIT University, aiming to understand their collaboration and recruitment objectives. With this knowledge, they work across multidisciplinary teams to support curating and delivering a diverse range of industry-aligned activities for engaging RMIT students effectively. These initiatives encompass a variety of activities such as job fairs, specialised programs, industry mentoring, networking, and general employment-oriented events. This position offers an exciting chance to forge strong connections between academia and industry, empowering RMIT students to thrive in their desired career paths, all while enhancing institutional collaborations and growth. 

To be successful in this position, you'll have: 

1. Relevant experience in sales and client management, preferably in a tertiary education environment. Experience should include database management, preparation of sales reports, capability to research opportunities, cold call potential industry partners, and convert leads to meet required targets. 

2. Demonstrated high-level experience in coordinating operational projects through all phases from planning, communication, process development, implementation, evaluation, and reporting. 

3. Demonstrated high-level experience in the cultivation and development of stakeholder relationships, including experience in sales pipeline management, setting targets, and developing tactics and campaigns to support further industry engagement related work programs. 

4. Highly developed customer relations, interpersonal and negotiation skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision as well as work cooperatively as a team member. 

5. Highly developed communication skills with the ability to engage and form working relationships with stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds and organisation levels. 

6. Strong time management and organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to set and meet targets, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. 

7. Ability to learn and implement new systems and procedures as appropriate and identify continuous process improvements opportunities for existing processes and procedures. 

8. Ability to use a range of information and communication technologies effectively with high attention to detail, including Microsoft Office packages web and email software, CRM database use and management. 

9. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to diversity, inclusion and reconciliation.

About the ​Portfolio​ 

The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University's strategies related to RMIT's academic programs and the RMIT student experience.  

The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research 

information sources. 

The Education Portfolio plays a key role in empowering students to access education, participate actively in the life of the University and achieve successful and fulfilling lives beyond graduation. The provision of a stimulating and satisfying experience for students is a priority for the University
