About the opportunity
There is currently one (1) permanent - full time position available for immediate filling.
We are seeking a dynamic and driven individual to join our team as an Information & Data Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the activities undertaken by the Information and Data Management (IDM) team to meet business needs and in compliance with all legislative requirements. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing information management strategies and policies that support Information Classification, Freedom of Information and Privacy Legislation. In this position, you will engage and consult with senior managers, vendors and service providers to promote collaborative technologies, process and behaviours to meet current and future corporate information needs.
We are looking for individuals with:
- significant knowledge of legislation, standards and compliance requirements for managing government and public information and digital services;
- experience in leading and managing an information or data management function in a complex organisation;
- highly developed communication skills, with the ability to consult with staff at various organisational levels;
- excellent analytical skills; and
- highly developed organisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands.

DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency for animal and plant biosecurity and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.
