About the role and team

We have an opportunity for an Information Security Compliance Analyst (ISCA) to join our national Information Technology team.

Reporting to the Information Security Manager, this role will monitor, manage and close existing compliance issues while also ensuring that internal systems are compliant with security standards. The ISCA will also ensure that the Firm proactively meets its compliance obligations, and will increase Information Security awareness at the Firm by developing and implementing relevant policies, training and certification processes.

This role forms part of our national Information Technology (IT) team. The IT team at Hall & Wilcox has approximately 17 team members nationally.

We are flexible as to the location of this role. Hall & Wilcox has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Newcastle, Adelaide, Canberra and Darwin.

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• mapping regulatory requirements across the Information Security framework to identify overlapping requirements and compliance efficiencies;
• supporting the Information Security team with internal and external security assessments including audits;
• tracking enterprise compliance across multiple security frameworks including ISM and ISO27001 and maintaining up-to-date records of requirements and corresponding mitigating controls;
• monitoring and running third-party risk assessments and assisting in performing internal risk assessments;
• analysing management and technical controls to ensure that specific security and compliance requirements are met through the verification of documented processes, procedures and standards in order to validate maintenance of secure configurations;
• collaborating on critical IT projects to ensure that security policy/risk issues are addressed throughout the project life cycle.
• monitoring the Firm’s change management process to ensure compliance.
• liaising with clients and responding to client requests for security questionnaires and assessments; and
• participating in the development of Information Security policies, and security and privacy awareness training in conjunction with other members of the Information Security team.

Skills and experience

We are keen to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:

• proven experience as a Compliance Analyst or similar role;
• at least one year of experience conducting security control assessments or audits;
• tertiary qualification/s in Information Security, Computer Science or Engineering;
• knowledge and understanding of ISM and ISO27001 Information Security standards;
• a working knowledge of Australian Privacy principles is desired;
• demonstrated ability to develop high quality documentation of systems, controls, policies and procedures;
• knowledge of Cloud security methods and best practice; and
• a high level of attention to detail and be a self-starter with ability to work independently, multi-task and adjust to shifting priorities.
