We are growing and an exciting opportunity is available for an Estimator/Supervisor to join our team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing multiple projects, creating accurate and appropriate scopes of works and managing relationships with our clients, customers and contractors to ensure a consistent superior level of service is provided.
This role would best suit an individual with a carpentry or a previous insurance estimating/supervising background.
Computer skills are essential, training will be provided to our purpose-built application.
About the role
The Estimator/Supervisor role is responsible for producing scope of works, costings, assessment and causation reports on property damaged by insurable events or requiring maintenance upgrades. You will also be responsible for organising and supervising trades involved in reinstatement works.
• Produce accurate scopes of works
• Manage construction projects to meet safety, cost, time and quality objectives
• Manage sub-contractors and actively source quality sub-contractors
• Determine a suitable tender response and return tender package within the required time frame
• Maintain good records on a computer-based work system (both internal and external client portals)
• Compile building assessment/causation reports in line with industry standards KPI's
• Liaise between our clients and customers
• Servicing Hobart and surrounding suburbs, likely regional travel
• Be actively involved in trade procurement

Skills and experience
• Strong technical building knowledge with a qualified trade background
• Time and organisational management skills with the ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment
• A professional appearance and excellent communication skills both in person and on the phone
• Insurance industry building experience is preferred
• Intermediate computer skills including experience in Microsoft office (excel, word, outlook) and web apps
• Must have a current and valid driver's license
