The Role

The Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Technical Documentation Lead is responsible for supporting the development of Luerssen Australia's long term sovereign capability, leading input and delivery of functional area project milestones to the customer, including being the direct interface to internal functions.
The role is responsible for the development and delivery of the ILS Maintenance Support and Technical Documentation deliverables of the naval vessel support system.
Based in WA, the role will lead a multi-disciplined team of technicians, operators, technical authors/writers (permanent & consultant) developing and updating maintenance routines, detailed maintenance plans, ship system operating manuals & ship technical equipment manuals.
The role will contribute to the Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) for Maintenance Support and Technical Documentation elements including:
o Level of Repair Analysis determination.
o Maintenance Task Analysis development.
o Detailed analysis of Preventive & Corrective Maintenance (Organic & External).
o Task Procedure & Resources (People, Spares, Test Equipment).
o Maintenance Instructions / Standard Activities.
o Technical Maintenance Plans.
o Upkeep and update Operator Manuals (e.g. EOSS, CSOSS).
o Upkeep and update Technical Equipment Manuals.
o Development, verification and validation of wider Ship System(s) documentation to relevant standards (e.g. DEF(AUST)5000 and DEF(AUST)5629).
Responsibilities
- Develop the strategy, plan and implement an enduring Luerssen capability.
- Establish an in-house Technical Documentation capability in line with DEF(AUST)5000 & DEF(AUST)5629.
- Develop Maintenance documentation in accordance with published standards.
- Manage the development of Logistic Support Analysis activates and deliverables.
- Manage the provisioning and review of vendor (LSA) technical information.
- Manage the liaison and relationship with the relevant customer Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG) representative.
- Schedule and Manage department activity, report progress.
- Lead the development of efficient data management means relative to the needs of the business.
- Support allied ILS functions data/information needs.
- Resolve queries and or data conflicts with stakeholders and end clients.
- Populate and maintain Logistic Support Analysis Records in accordance with established processes.
- Participate in process reviews & Mandated System Reviews.
Requirements
- Minimum of Trade qualification with Post Trade or Tertiary qualification (engineering/electrical) preferred.
- Security Clearance Level NV1, baseline also considered or able to achieve.
- Logistic Support Analysis practitioner (desired).
- Minimum 10 years experience in equipment maintenance.
- Minimum 5 years experience in ILS, either development of artefacts or as an end user. Demonstrated experience with the development and delivery of Integrated Logistics Support in a defence procurement or sustainment projects.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- An understanding of Defence Navy Logistic Information Systems (NLIS).
