About the role

The IR Fellow is responsible for assisting in the provision and Interventional Radiology and vascular services at RAH under the guidance of Consultant Interventional Radiologists. The position involves specific experience and training in Interventional Radiology including endovascular procedures, computed tomography (CT) and fluoroscopic guided non-vascular intervention, percutaneous liver procedures, nephrostomy insertion and abscess drainage. There will be opportunity to work with Interventional NeuroRadiologists.

This is a fellowship position for a radiologist who has obtained their Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR). For a fulltime position, the IR Fellow will have a minimum of three days gaining specific experience and training in Interventional Radiology in the angiography suite or performing interventional CT/ultrasound procedures, one-and-a-half-days reporting diagnostic radiology/MRI/ clinical meetings and half-a-day per week for study/research as per SAMI RAH Radiology needs.

About you 

  • Obtained a Specialist Qualification and is registrable as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration.
  • Medical practitioners who have passed all components of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) Clinical Radiology Part 2 examinations and have successfully completed at least four years of accredited practical training in Clinical Radiology are allowed to apply.
  • Wide general experience in radiology, including CT, US, MRI and procedures.
  • Experience of teaching postgraduates and/or undergraduate students.

Essential Requirements:

Educational/Vocational Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. > Obtained a Specialist Qualification and is registrable as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration.
