Position Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Inventory Cost Administrator to join our client. The Inventory Cost Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the process of determining all costs associated with acquiring and transporting goods, including taxes, duties, freight charges, and insurance, commonly referred to as the landed cost of the item.
Responsibilities:
- Support the inventory process, including landed cost, labor, raw material, and BOM costing.
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile inventory accounts.
- Monitor inventory and labor recording activities to ensure accurate reporting of production costs.
- Support and participate in month-end and year-end close processes related to inventory.
- Generate accurate reports and present results as required.
- Assist with audit requests and documentation related to cost of goods sold and inventory balances.
- Develop and document processes and policies to enhance internal controls.
- Collaborate closely with other functional areas and business management to resolve issues.
- Perform other duties as agreed upon.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field.
- 2-5 years of prior accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, independently, and follow instructions.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with a solid math aptitude.
- Excellent organizational, written, and interpersonal skills, with acute attention to detail.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures with a focus on process improvements.
- Initiative and dedication to tasks, with a track record of dependability and good attendance.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.
- Proven experience in adapting to change and demonstrating flexibility.
- Previous experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Pronto, etc.
