As an Associate in the Investment Banking coverage team, you will be a key contributor, and on occasion leader, of work streams in the group's transaction execution, marketing and client coverage initiatives, as well as playing a part in driving the culture, capabilities and overall strategy of the business.
Job responsibilities
- You will participate in the "full cycle" of transactional execution including preparing marketing pitches, reviewing and formulating financial analysis, preparing and presenting internal and client presentations
- You will play a leadership role in implementing the execution function including working with, and supporting, analysts as well as assisting more senior bankers
- You will strengthen your analytical, modelling, writing and presentation skills and will demonstrate the ability to become a senior officer who is capable of generating and executing his/her own transactions
- You will become knowledgeable about the global and Australian sectors and its participants and will collaborate closely with colleagues across JP Morgan's global platform as well as the Australian product groups
- You will be highly enthusiastic about J.P. Morgan's mission and be driven and committed to its success
- Working with the broader team of over 100 Analysts and Associates across the APAC region, you will be involved real-time in transactions that may include travel
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
- Prior work experience in an Investment Banking and an awareness of the products and services provided
- A well-rounded academic background from a top tier educational institution.
- Strong financial modelling skills
- A general understanding of the M&A and capital markets transaction cycle and processes involved
- Impeccable communication details with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients and key stakeholders in other product groups
- Proactive, highly motivated, and committed with the ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively
