The Role
COSBOA members are Peak Bodies and member organisations who represent small businesses across a vast range of sectors. As the IR Specialist at COSBOA, you'll be the fountain of knowledge for all things IR related.
You’ll be responsible for analysing and simplifying workplace relations policies in order to provide expert recommendations and advice to members and external stakeholders. In turn, so they can guide their members to successful implement any changes.
Due to the nature and specialist skills required in this role, COSBOA are open for this role to be full or part time and based anywhere across Australia.
About You
As the IR Specialist you’ll possess a deep understanding of industrial relations issues and regulatory frameworks, coupled with excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex policies to diverse audiences. You’ll be collaborative, proactive, and committed to fostering inclusive work cultures while driving impactful changes in workplace relations policies for the benefit of small businesses across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and analyse recent workplace relations changes
- Identify industrial relations changes and opportunities
- Provide advice to internal and external stakeholders for compliance with legislation and policies.
- Prepare evidence-based, timely, and concise legal policy advice and briefs
- Communicate changes effectively to COSBOA members and external stakeholders
- Degree or relevant experience in Industrial Relations, Law, or Policy
- Understanding of current industrial relations issues and regulatory frameworks
- Thorough knowledge of legislation and awards systems
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate complex matters clearly and succinctly
