We are currently seeking an Irrigation 2IC to join our Team at our Bunargool Orchard.
About the role
In this full-time role, you will work under the direction of the Irrigation Manager to assist in the delivery of the day-to-day Irrigation requirements of the Farm. You will be a highly organised, motivated individual who works collaboratively to achieve optimum outcomes.
You will:
- Assist the Irrigation Manager in collecting and assessing irrigation data, ensure irrigation levels are optimum for maintenance of the almond growth cycle
- Assist the Irrigation Manager in the scheduling of irrigation and fertiliser applications and ongoing infrastructure maintenance
- Operate irrigation pumping infrastructure, PLC's, irrigation controllers and other irrigation system componentry.
- Manage and supervise an irrigation team.
- Identify and report wet areas and in consultation with the Irrigation Manager and undertake corrective measures to reduce the impact
To be successful you will have:
- 5+ years as an Irrigation or Farm Leading Hand with Irrigation experience of an almond orchard, tree nut orchard or other perennial horticultural/viticultural crop is preferred.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Current driver's license.
