About the Role
We are excited to announce that we are inviting applications for a new position in alignment with our Corporate Services team – an IST Infrastructure Manager. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the primary focus of this role is to facilitate a high level of IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology) performance, whilst developing clear outcomes for projects – Based on close consultation with stakeholders, and an excellent understanding of our technology capabilities and limitations.
The IST Infrastructure Manager will ensure the underlying network infrastructure and its associated technology operate efficiently, perform within agreed targets, and deliver a safe and secure platform. You must utilise your advanced technical skills and experience to optimise and expand the existing IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud, LTE, wireless and digital radio networks.
This is a role within our Perth office, offered on a 5:2 roster (averaging 37.5hrs per week). Some travel to our Greenbushes Site Operation will be required, and this is roughly a three-hour drive from our Perth location.
Responsibilities include:
Overseeing the IST Infrastructure team;
Ensuring critical infrastructure security, efficiency, and reliability, including networks (PCS and Corporate), cloud, servers and virtualisation, LTE network, and digital radio;
Building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external vendors;
Work with other departments to identify and address their technology needs;
Plan and manage the life cycle of IT infrastructure (including networking, LTE, digital radio, switches, PCS);
Stakeholder in the IST Security Strategy;
Manage relationships with third-party vendors to deliver specialised projects and managed services;
Contribute to policy and guideline formation and the ongoing contribution to the knowledge database; and
Maintain a current understanding of leading cyber security threats and mitigations
About the Candidate
The following qualification/s and competencies are considered desirable for this position:
Degree or Qualification in IT / Engineering;
Knowledge of Microsoft Server product sets (incl. Windows Server and SQL);
Familiarity of virtualized environments using VMWare’s suit of tools and features;
Knowledge of network, endpoint, and mobile security systems; and
Possess an excellent understanding of networking, Wi-Fi, LTE and remote access technologies.
The incumbent should have the following skills and/or experience:
The person we are seeking is a bright, energetic self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision;
You must demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly and professionally to new and evolving situations while showcasing your initiative, prioritisation, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced setting;
Experience in supporting remote locations;
Experience managing a mix of office and field-based team members;
You have delivered complex change programs & IT transformation;
Well-developed logical and lateral thinking skills with a capacity for innovation;
Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively;
Able to create standardised processes to ensure consistent delivery aligned with business objectives;
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of leading IT practices;
Knowledge of network, endpoint, and mobile security systems;
Possess an excellent understanding of networking, Wi-Fi, LTE and remote access technologies;
Ability to produce clear and comprehensive documentation, including contributions towards policies, guidelines, procedures, and knowledge article; and
Ability to create standardized processes to ensure consistent delivery, aligned with business objectives.
