About the role:

We are looking for an IT Disaster Recovery Manager to join the Major Incident Management function in Coles Technology.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide hands-on management approach to designing, planning, exercising, and maintaining ITDR capability within Coles' Technology environment
  • Measure, document, and validate Technology's ability to restore the critical applications and dependent services within agreed recovery timeframes
  • Lead the ITDR cadence of Technology teams ensuring DR plans and exercises and regularly reviewed, maintained, and executed
  • Provide end-to-end management during ITDR scenarios - Incident response, assessment, declaration, restoration of service, and post-disaster reviews
  • Ensure ongoing maturity and uplift of the ITDR function for Coles Technology
  • Embed ITDR guidelines across Technology teams and cross-functionally
  • Integrate ITDR framework with Group Response expectations and framework

About you and your skills:

  • Ability to lead a team of Technology and business team members to meet ITDR framework requirements
  • Extensive experience working in a Technology context within a dynamic environment such as retail
  • Solid understanding of recovery processes and methodologies
  • Strong ability to empathise with - and understand - impacts to Technology and business, then translate these into actionable DR plans
  • Ability to think laterally when required, be objective in approach, and to remain calm in a crisis
  • Adapt with constant change, manage complex issues, and rapidly reprioritise tasks
  • Ability to translate and communicate information to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work cross-functionality and understand changing business requirements
  • Strong attention to detail ensuring ITDR plans are fit for purpose
  • Ability to guide teams ensuring they are aware of their DR responsibilities
  • Negotiate and agree upon DR targets with stakeholders
