About This Opportunity 

The University of Queensland are seeking highly motivated interns to join the IT Governance and Investment Division and contribute to the growth and success of the Governance and Investment division.  

The IT Governance and Investment division help the IT function to enhance value, manage risk and support good decision making to ensure UQ leverages technology to deliver against UQ’s strategic goals.  

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to, and gain experience in the following areas: 

  • Licensing - doing low risk license reviews. 

  • Procurement - support procurement with contracts administration 

  • Architecture - analysis and architecture maintenance 

  • Project Management Office - support the project and change team with administration and analysis. 

  • General Analysis - general business analysis and support to the governance team.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Functional support: Coordinate administrative processes, support communication drafting, manage documentation and records, perform data-related tasks and analyses, undertake follow-up, feedback and reporting activities.

  • Stakeholder support: Be a point of contact for relevant internal and/or external stakeholders, such as assisting them with their enquiries by providing appropriate and necessary information.

  • Other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

This is a casual position at HEW level 3, with an hourly rate in the range of $42.09 to $46.33, plus superannuation of 11%. As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.

About You  

We are looking for a highly motivated Intern with excellent time management and administrative skills, as well as the desire to work in a busy Project office team.

  • Currently enrolled for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program at the University of Queensland, studying towards Law, Business Management or Information Technology.

  • Knowledge, skills or an interest in procurement, risk management, project management, architecture or business analysis would be advantageous.

  • Relevant coursework or experience transferrable to Governance and risk management.

  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think critically.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling clear and concise interaction with team members and stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working autonomously while also seeking guidance when needed.

  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
