The Role

Are you a seasoned problem-solver who thrives under pressure? Do you have a passion for managing critical incidents and ensuring swift resolution? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! As an IT Major Incident Manager, you'll be at the forefront of handling emergency-level outages and disruptions. Your role will involve coordinating with internal teams, external vendors, and the bridge team to direct the incident resolution process. While you won't be resolving the issues yourself, your expertise will guide the teams that do. Our Port Melbourne site is not only the home of Vegemite it is also the home of other Australian iconic products, such as Bega Peanut Butter, Bega Simply Nuts, Zoosh and Cream Cheese. VEGEMITE has been proudly made in Port Melbourne, Australia since 1923.

This role includes a requirement to be "on call". This role is hybrid, with a requirement to be in the office 3 days and 2 days work from home.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain an effective incident management process, including identification, logging, categorization, prioritization, investigation, and resolution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Major Incident-related communication, providing timely and accurate updates to stakeholders (senior management, IT teams, and business users).
  • Conduct post-incident analysis to identify root causes, contributing factors, areas for improvement and permanent corrective actions.
  • Proactively identify possible problems before incidents occur and lead Post Incident Review meetings following Major Incidents.
  • Drive efforts to improve incident management processes, tools, and methodologies.


About you

  • Experience and Certification in ITIL
  • Qualification in computer science, information technology or a related field
  • Experience in Manufacturing/Logistics or another complex organisational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) principles, frameworks, and best practices (e.g., ITIL)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make informed decisions.
