It Project Manager

Exciting new opportunity for an IT Project Manager with infrastructure experience.

Your new company 

Hays recruitment is partnering with a government-owned electricity generation company in the Northern Territory, Australia to find an exceptional Project Manager with an Information Technology background to join their team. 

Your new role 

• Conduct planning meetings with senior management, departmental heads, and relevant team members to help define project scope, allocate tasks, and set pre-determined timescales.
• Oversee projects to ensure they are completed within budget and adhere to the specified timelines.
• Track day-to-day project progress and record milestones, identify potential issues, and report them to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Commission and interpret relevant paperwork.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors to streamline work processes.
• Review completed installations and understand relevant legislation.

What you'll need to succeed 

• Proficient in both interpersonal and communication skills.
• Capable of articulating technical details to staff and summarising key points for executive understanding.
• Possess a solid understanding of establishing new networks, system migration, and infrastructure deployment
• Demonstrate superior project management abilities, backed by a proven track record.
• Skilled at analysing, comprehending, and bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution.
• Familiar with the applications being deployed.
• Exhibit problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making abilities that influence both management and partners, internally and externally.
• Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
• Self-driven with a passion for problem-solving
• Project management experience in the utility industry is desirable.
