Capriccio Osteria in Leichhardt is seeking an experienced Sous Chef who is interested in traditional Italian Cuisine yet enjoys adding a modern twist to each dish.
Capriccio is located on Leichhardt's famous Norton Street, Capriccio Osteria was founded in 2015 with the focus being on a simple menu that show's off the great variety of flavours found in Italy, from the dairy rich North to the lemon zesty South.
A bit about the role
This is a great opportunity for an experienced chef to step up and lead kitchen & staff or an experienced Sous chef.
Responsibilities
-Controlling and directing the food preparation process.
-Responsible for day-to-day kitchen operations, training and supervising of staff.
-Meeting the restaurants financial goals.
-Stock control & ordering.
-Coordinate and develop quality menu in line with Capriccio standards and present with Owner.
Requirements & skills
-Proven experience as a Sous chef/ proven experience for a chef with minimum 5 years experience in that roll.
-Outstanding communication & leadership skills
-High standard of food preparation & productivity
-Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
-Exceptional presentation, communication, time management & attention to detail.
-Has an interest and experience in Italian cookery.
-Proven leadership experience working in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment.
-Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
-Food Safety Certificate
