ARC Future Grids Training Centre - Leading the Transformation to a Clean Energy Future.
The ARC Future Grids Industrial Transformation Training Centre (ITTC), led by the University of Wollongong, is a 5 year, $8.5m research and training program, bringing together 6 Universities and 15 industry partners across five Australian states to deliver innovative research that will advance Australia's transition to a clean energy future.
ARC Future Grids Training Centre programs aim to develop future leaders in power and energy with a strong commitment to advancing the transition to a clean energy future. These programs provide unique opportunities to tackle critical global challenges, and to receive world-class training and professional development from world-leading researchers.
The Opportunity
The ARC Future Grids Training Centre is seeking a high-calibre Lab Research Engineer, who has expertise in the areas of electrical power engineering to conduct laboratory experiments, develop simulation models, technical evaluation of hardware equipment and software, and troubleshooting, provide solution for technical issues and coordinate with researchers and students.
Working within a large research entity (60 people incl. 20+ PhD, 5+ Post Docs), the successful candidate will work in collaboration with all five research theme areas of the ARC Future Grids ITTC team to ensure outcomes of each project match the needs of the partner organisers and help guide and undertake applied, industry focused research.
The Lab Research Engineer will work closely with industries and interact with PhD students, Chief Investigators and Partner Investigators of the Centre and will be supported through additional mentoring, training and personal development.
This position demands a strong power engineering focus and will involve a high level of R&D and laboratory activities in the fields of power system and power electronic modelling and analysis. The successful candidate will be expected to make significant contributions to future power and energy engineering research activities within the ITTC.
