We are seeking a Jansz-Io Compression (J-IC) BWI Supervisor – Onplot (E, I & C) on behalf of Chevron.
The Jansz-Io Compression (J-IC) BWI Supervisor – Onplot (E,I&C) will report day-to-day to the J-IC BWI Construction Superintendent, with the job role owned by the J-IC BWI Construction Lead.
This role will be in an on-site back-to-back role responsible for management and safety leadership during the construction and pre-commissioning of the new and upgraded onshore facilities on Barrow Island (BWI).
The BWI construction activities include:
- New horizontal directionally drilled (HDD) shore crossings.
- New 13km cross-island trenching and new buried HV power transmission and fibre optic communications cables
installation. - Installation of new high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) substations, switchgear, transformers, an essential diesel generator and other packaged equipment.
The J-IC BWI Supervisor – Onplot (E,I&C) will be responsible, as the owners team representative, for construction oversight and safety leadership of the electrical and instrumentation & Controls new facilities and existing facility modifications works.
- Responsible for owner’s team oversight and safe execution of the electrical and instrumentation & Controls new
facilities and existing facility modifications works in accordance with the Project schedule. - Provide onsite visible safety leadership to the Project owners team, the implementation contractors, vendor
representatives and other specialists, and through interface to the base business and operating assets. - Responsible for owner’s team oversight of quality execution, in conjunction with owners team & Contractor
electrical/EEHA quality inspectors.
- Extensive working construction experience with Oil & Gas, or similar industry, required.
- Trade qualification, construction management formal training, or suitable Degree or equivalent
- HV electrical, switchgear and transformers construction experience is essential.
- Good general computing skills including Excel, Word and MS Teams required.
- Strong organisational, interpersonal, written and verbal (English language) communications skills are essential.
- Creative, pragmatic, open-minded thinking and a can-do attitude are required to facilitate solutions.
- Previous experience with Chevron, Barrow Island, the Gorgon Project or the Wheatstone Project is preferred but not essential.
- Australian Full working rights

- 2 weeks on & 2 weeks off rotational Roster
- Based at Barrow Island
- Contract role: Feb 2024 - July 2025
