Council is seeking applications for a Leading Hand – Construction in the Works Section to assist with the construction of new and maintenance of existing roads, footpaths, kerbing and channelling, stormwater drainage, bitumen reseals and boat ramps.
About the position:
We’re looking for someone with good communication and leadership skills to guide, assist and give directions to team members in on-site construction and maintenance activities. This will extend to liaising and coordinating private contracted plant and services on the job site. The Leading Hand will need to have considerable experience and knowledge in road construction and maintenance, with the ability to read and comprehend job plans and specifications. The successful applicant will control site works on allocated projects (under the direction of the Supervisor) and will need to possess problem solving and time management skills to ensure completion.

The gross fortnightly wage for this position ranges from $2,651.46 to $2,823.32 with the commencing wage dependent upon the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
