Junior Automation Engineer

Location: Flexible - Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide

MUST HAVE MINIMUM NV1 AGSVA CLEARANCE with the ability to obtain NV2 clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Automation team supporting the design and deployment of Automation Framework.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, sharing knowledge to enhance team capabilities.
  • Challenge existing processes, develop solutions using cutting-edge industry tools, and work closely with key vendors.
  • Drive the development of innovative customer-centric performance monitoring solutions using tools like SPLUNK, GRAFANA, etc.
  • Continuously review and improve Automation frameworks, ensuring efficiency and robustness.
  • Experience working in a defense development environment is an added advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Australian Citizens with a current NV1 clearance minimum (NV2 clearance required).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Skills:

Automation:

  • Experience in Ansible and/or Python, with experience in code repositories like GitHub.
  • Familiarity with AWX or Ansible Tower, SPLUNK, GitHub or Gitlab.
  • Implement security best practices for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Task management using Jira, qtest, zephyr.
  • Test framework and knowledge of testing (Rspec or Mini Test).
  • Service orchestration.
  • Cloud Competence: Previous experience in AWS, Azure, Google, etc., is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Openstack, Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, SDN, and NFV.

Other Competencies:

  • Strong skills in IP Networking and routing protocols.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Understanding of software development and testing methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
