About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for Junior Designers to join the Engenium, now Stantec team. We are searching for Junior Designers within the Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical & Piping disciplines to join our Energy & Resources team. This opportunity will be based in our Perth CBD office and will see you work closely alongside our experienced Design team members to learn, develop and refine your Design skills.

As our new Junior Designer, you'll be willing to join a team that works on all aspects of mining engineering projects across Australia. You'll be tasked on projects for a diverse client set, from ‘Junior’ to 1st Tier international mining companies.

The following are some of your key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of drawings, designs and sketches;
  • Obtaining data needed to progress design efficiently and with accuracy;
  • Assist in general arrangement layouts, sketches and detailed design;
  • Work to and within the Quality Procedures to ensure an auditable trail in design;
  • Assist with the preparation of drawing related procedures and flowcharts; and
  • Learn from experienced designers and liaise with engineers to gain requirements.

About you

  • Recently completed or currently studying a tertiary qualification in CAD Drafting;
  • Previous experience within the Mining or Construction industry (desirable);
  • Able to participate as part of a team;
  • Attention to detail;
  • The ability to liaise with peers and direct supervisors;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; and
  • A proactive and ‘can do’ work approach.
