The Client Service Management (CSM) team is a part of the Client Group at Wellington Management and contributes to the firm's mission by delivering first class client service across the full breadth of business channels and markets. The Client Analyst will work closely with Client Service Managers in managing overall service delivery and driving the resolution of client service queries, leveraging and coordinating with other line functions within the firm as appropriate so as to deliver the agreed upon servicing requirements of each of our clients.
This role will be based in Singapore and will primarily focus on servicing our institutional separate account clients across Asia ex Japan. Key Responsibilities
The core components of the role are to:
- Act on client instructions or research and respond to client inquiries on a wide range of topics including portfolio data, statistics, and operational queries such as cashflows, guideline compliance, overdrafts, fees, etc
- Work closely with the CSMs on all client onboarding/restructuring/offboarding activities (eg AML/KYC, client documentation, operational workflow)
- Negotiate and set up client reporting deliverables/changes, in discussions with the relevant teams
- Assist with mandate changes/maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures eg guideline changes, authorized signatories, benchmark changes, ongoing AML/KYC monitoring, etc
- Manage responses to client questionnaires on existing mandates, as well as logistics and materials for operational due diligence meetings.
- Maintain strong relationships with client/consultant contacts and participate in external meetings as appropriate
- Host operational meetings with clients
- Become involved in special projects
- Coach and mentor more junior team members
- Collaboration - Work in active partnership with others in the Client Platform, the Investment Platform and the Infrastructure Platform teams (both locally and globally) to efficiently fulfill client requests and maintain high servicing standards
- Content - Demonstrate a sound knowledge of investment markets, Wellington Management's investment strategies and product offerings, particularly those in which clients are invested, plus an in-depth knowledge of local regulations and client servicing procedures, i.e. "how to get things done" for clients
- Stewardship - Work with CSMs to effectively balance the needs of each client with the capabilities and resources of Wellington Management
- Execution - Knowledge of and accurate implementation of our internal processes and risk controls
The Client Analyst should have a minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in the financial services industry, with a sound foundation of investment and capital markets knowledge. Previous or direct experience in an operations function or supporting institutional separate account client relationships is viewed positively.
In addition, the candidate should possess the following:
- Exceptional project management/organizational skills with a strong detail-orientation, including the ability to follow through, multi-task, be consistently responsive, and to manage changing priorities while meeting often strict deadlines
- Sound business judgement, problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills and the ability to express oneself in both individual and group settings are a must
- Fluency in spoken and/or written Mandarin will be beneficial
- Positive and pro-active attitude, flexibility, and a sense of humor
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals across our client base and global offices
- A college degree is required and a CFA/CAIA (or progress towards these qualifications) is viewed favorably
