About the Role:
Based at our Perth office, we are currently seeking a suitably qualified and energetic Junior Drafter who is interested in a career path to become an E&I Designer in the Gas and Energy industry.
The ideal applicant will have at least a Diploma in Engineering – preferably Electrical / Instrumentation and previous Computer based drafting experience (AutoCAD ). An interest in Electrical and Instrumentation design will be advantageous.
To be successful, you will preferably have experience with elements of the following:
Design Drafting
- Understanding of design drawings using various software platforms – primarily AutoCAD.
- Understanding of 3D Modelling – Cable ladder, underground conduit, Equipment Rooms & Panels
- Preparation of presentation materials using MS Office suite of products
You will learn about and develop skills in the following:
- Engineering drawings namely of Cable blocks / Hook-ups / Single Line diagrams and termination drawings.
- E&I, Earthing and Hazardous area layout drawings.
- Panel layout and Equipment building layout drawings.
- Electrical & Instrumentation schematics.
- Vendor package interface drawings
- Cable Schedules, Node drawings
- Understand Electrical & Instrumentation engineering standards and able to learn and understand client’s standards and specifications.
Essential Qualities and Background
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in electrical drafting
- Diploma in Engineering – Electrical (desirable)
- Computer based drafting experience (AutoCAD / MicroStation),
- Strong computer literacy skills with advanced knowledge of MS applications,
- Ability to work efficiently, effectively and to hard deadlines,
- Willingness to work on a range of projects as workload dictates,
- Happy to work under supervision,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal & external stakeholders,
- Flexible attitude to rapid changing project requirements,
- Happy to be part of a team.
