Junior / Graduate Purchasing Officer

A global industry leader for more than 60 years specialising in the supply of Hydraulic and Industrial fluid handling solutions to the Agricultural, Construction, Shipbuilding & Military, Oil & Gas and Mining Sectors.
About the role:

• As a Junior Purchasing Officer, your primary responsibilities will revolve around evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts, conducting market research, and ensuring efficient supply chain management.
• Continuously conduct market and product research to stay updated with emerging trends and potential business opportunities.
• Source materials, goods, products and services and negotiate contracts and deals with vendors and suppliers.
• Conduct regular inventory inspections, repordering supplies, and reporting any discrepancies or faulty items.
• Maintain accurate records of orders, payments, and received stock, and collaborate with delivery team to ensure timely shipments.
• Attend industry events, product launches and engage in networking activities to establish and nurture relationships within the industry.
• Monday – Friday, office based role working 40 hours per week based in Eastern Creek.

About you:

• A keen eye for detail, solid analytical skills, and the ability to forge strong proferssional relationships with vendors and clients.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively commnuicate and collaborate within a team.
• You’re reliable, motivated, and able to work under pressure with changing priorities.
• Would suit a junior or recent Graduate in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or other related field (highly advantageous but not essential)
• A strong work ethic, attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
• Be a Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen.
