Who are we?

The Morphettville Racecourse is a unique and vibrant entertainment destination and the home of thoroughbred racing in metropolitan Adelaide.

What is the Junior Ignite Program?

The Junior program is directed at students under the age of 18, who are looking to gain paid experience within the workforce. Our Junior 'Sparks' will be provided with a well-rounded and extensive training schedule, as well as ongoing support and development opportunities from the line manager.

Opportunities

The individual in the role will have the opportunity to obtain well-rounded skills within their applicable department of choice which could include:

Food & Beverage

This position will participate in the service of food & beverage to customers during a race-day or function.

Kitchen

Assisting with the preparation of food and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen.

Furniture & Set-up

Assisting in furniture set up and pack down, building of new furniture, and furniture storage.

Administration

Providing administrative support which could include responding to emails, answering calls, sorting paperwork.

Grounds and Trackwork

Maintenance of surfaces, training facilities, grounds and associated amenities.

Responsibilities

• Undertake duties as directed by the relevant line manager.

• The values, Code of Conduct and company policies are adhered to.

• All incidents, accidents, hazards and near misses are reported.

Skills & Personal Attributes

• Ability to co-ordinate/multitask.

• Have a ‘can do’ attitude and eagerness to learn.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Able to work weekends and outside normal business hours.

• Experience in the use of Microsoft Office.
