Job description

Position: Junior Operations ManagerPosition Type: Full-TimeSalary: $90,000 to $100,000 plus superannuation per annumLocation: Banksmeadow NSW 2019Our client is seeking someone with an actual exhaustive warehousing experience, ready for the next level. The site is of a modest size both in terms of sqm and staff but operates 7 days a week, 12 hours per day. Your role would include regular work on the Saturday with another day off during the week in place.Primary Objectives:

  • Ensure the smooth running of the operations processes
  • Ensure regular KPI reporting both internally and externally, and performance is in line with Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Ensure the efficient use of resources to achieve financial objectives
  • Ensure OHS requirements are met
  • Assisting and acting as Second In Charge (2IC) to the WH Manager
  • Manage QHSE & other related requirements (including Pharma / Healthcare related - example WHO GDP) as defined from time to time including internal as well as from the Customers (as required) if applicable.
  • Manage, adhere & act in accordance with the responsibilities and authorities to deal with Pharma-related quality & operational issues within the company and with the Customer (as required) if applicable.
Key Tasks: / Major Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring an adequate level of training and assessing skills/knowledge before assigning tasks to team members (OHS, SOP, Work instruction, Company Policies, etc)
  • Ensuring staff is given equipment and resource to perform their duties, safety and productivity wise
  • Addressing performance issues promptly and professionally
  • Ensuring employees are working as per their contract and legislation
  • Ensuring ongoing adjustment of resource to workload
  • Organizing daily plan/roster based on workload expectations and customer demands
  • Ensure all resources are utilized efficiently
  • Reporting KPIs daily/weekly/monthly
  • Monitoring performance and profitability along the day through productivity tracking
  • Continuously monitoring the performance and activities of the warehouse through the use of KPIs, with a primary focus on cost controls.
  • Assessing individual performance for continuous improvement purpose
  • Driving the team by exemplarity
  • In accordance with WH Manager and customer, organizing cycle counts and stock takes periodically, analysing discrepancies and identifying corrective action plans with WH Manager
  • Adhere to and enforce Security rules
  • Undertaking from time to time other warehousing and management tasks as specified by the WH Manager or replacing the WH Manager when on leave in particular regarding relationships with vendors and landlord
  • Ensuring that all products are delivered as per customer or client requirements and on time
  • Ensuring all interaction and communication with customers or clients is professionally driven
  • Ensuring any issue is reported to client in a timely manner (
1h) * Ensure that all customer or client complaints are handled promptly and professionally, as per SLA
  • Ensure management is aware of all complaints
  • Working with client on site (implants are present on site)
  • Participating to daily/weekly meetings
  • Comply with all specific QHSE Integrated Management System policies and procedures.
  • Support all company QHSE & CSR promotions and initiatives
  • Keep informed of all QHSE information provided by the company in accordance with any legislation, codes of practice and guidelines and liaise as necessary with the relevant government departments and private bodies.
  • Immediately, in the event of an accident, dangerous occurrence, or a risk of imminent and serious injury or harm to the health of any person at the workplace, or near miss situation, report the matter to managing line as well as Pacific QHSE Manager
  • To consult and cooperate with Management on all matters relating to the health and safety of persons and the environment at the workplace
  • Attend or manage and actively participate in location's QHSE meetings (tool box meetings, Gemba walks, 6S assessments, etc)
  • Propose recommendations to your senior Manager or Supervisor in regard to how the QHSE Management Systems can be improved.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and/or checklists as may be required.
  • As a manager, being part of the Emergency Response Team.
Requirements:
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience as a supervisor in Logistics, ideally in a 3PL environment
  • Experience of WMS and working in a paperless warehouse
  • Good communications skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and KPI's in a demanding environment
  • Leadership
  • Aptitude with numbers and managing budget
Preferred requirements:
  • First experience as an Operations Manager
  • Hold a valid forklift licence
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Inventory controller experience.
