ADB Safegate Australia is looking for a Junior Project Engineer to join our team working on upcoming airside projects at Hobart International Airport, TAS. This unique opportunity will provide you with a new perspective and help you gain valuable skills in a niche area of the electrical and aviation industry.
This opportunity is not solely limited to Hobart Airport. ADB Safegate have active projects across Australia and New Zealand and applicants should consider the possibility of both short- and long-term travel in their future with us. Flights, accommodation, vehicles, meals and fuel are all provided if you are required to work on one of our many airfield sites across the ANZ region. For some roles, including that of a Junior Project Engineer, remote working may be required at times assisting interstate projects where needed.
Your new role
We would love to hear from you if you have airfield lighting experience, however this is not mandatory. For those who have not worked on an airfield before, our team is ready to provide training on the specific project procedures and installation methods.
Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Supply Chain coordination including the ordering and management of project orders through SAP and similar tools.
- Administrative support to the Project Manager and the projects team.
- Preparation and maintenance of project start-up documentation.
- Establishing and managing a project document control system.
- Preparation and management of the project quality, environment, and safety documentation.
- Preparation of the project commissioning and handover documentation.
- Preparation and management of Traffic management plans and site access requirements.
- Coordination of project equipment orders.
You will bring
- This is an entry level position with minimal experience required.
- Tertiary studies in Engineering – Electrical discipline preferred.
- Experience in airfield lighting or aviation in general would be an added advantage, however not a requirement.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills with a demonstrated capacity to find solutions to problems.
- MS Office proficient including Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Visio.
- Ability to communicate well with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Great team player and ability to operate autonomously.
- Committed to meeting deadlines.
- Attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work.
