An opportunity for you as the Junior Solution Designer, to support the applications within Digital Market Platforms through technical support, maintenance and continual improvement. Using your deep understanding of business processes and technology, you will help Product Line Managers and Value Stream Lead to achieve their desired outcomes across all new and existing electricity and gas initiatives.
You will gain valuable insights and experience through collaboration with product owners and applications SME's to deliver small to medium application enhancements. Take charge and lead requirements gathering, solution design, testing and deployment. Under your scope to drive recommendations around process and IT Architecture improvements.
Act as an IT consultant in this diverse role, to analyse functional requirements and produce optimised technical speculations. Prioritise product backlog and estimate effort for small to medium user stories.
A little about you:
- preferable experience the following areas: Applications Development, Solution Architecture, Project Management, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance and Support
- solid experience in technical Application Development and Operations, IT Infrastructure implementations, IT Projects & IT Security compliance (Hands On)
- design and lead IT Disaster and Recovery solutions, run sheets and exercises
- hands on with various application development, configuration, source code management and automation technologies
- experience in solution consultancy, analyse functional requirements to produce optimized technical specifications and designs.
- SME for the IT Metering Systems unit
- lead and drive the technical planning, design, coding and testing activities
- ability to Coach, Mentor and develop technical staff
- experience in converting business requirements and functional requirements to use cases, epics, and user stories with acceptance criteria
- exposure to Mesh networks, IoT and M2M solutions (implementation and design)
- field visit required from time to time to audit as part of implementation and design of AMI mesh network
- exposure to DER, Demand Response and EV solutions
- Relevant tertiary qualification in IT Bachelor degree or a related discipline required
- Knowledge of Scripting: Shell, Perl, Windows Batch, PL/SQL, Database: Oracle, MS SQL Server, Web : Apache, Tomcat, Groovy Grails, JBOSS, SCM: GIT, SVN, CVS, Jenkins, Tools: MS Project, MS Visio, SQL Developer, Security: OpenSSL, HSM, SSL Certificate Management, Operating System: RHEL (UNIX), Windows Server
- Experience with ERP and Metering applications (SAP, Itron, AMI)
- Incident Management tool (Service Now, Remedy)
- Test Management tools (HP QC, ALM)
- Maintain, plan and be a part of rostered 24x7 on call break fix support and to ensure service levels are achieved
- Excellent Defect Management, support experience for various test cycles including Functional, UAT & participate and organise defect triage meetings
